Our Clients Quantum Computing group is exploring ways to build a full-scale Quantum computer. The lab is among the largest Quantum labs in Europe and will provide you with many opportunities to make a positive impact in a highly dynamic environment of scientist and engineers trying to push the boundaries of Quantum computing. This research program is allocated on eight sites in three continents.
Material science and fabrication are the foundation and the enablers of qubit devices. In their research, our client deals with complex stacks of different materials combined at the nanoscale and require high repeatability of fabrication processes. The fabrication of qubit devices is a challenging, multistep process pushing the boundaries of nanotechnology and nanopatterning techniques. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of this groundbreaking approach to quantum computing. This person will help creating quantum devices with quality and control well beyond the current state-of-the-art.
To keep improving the devices, our client is running a baseline for their device fabrication. They are looking for a fabrication process engineer.
Responsibilities will include but are not be limited to:
- Follow standard operating procedures to run a series of unit process steps in a small team of other engineers to make a nano-electronic device
- Maintain and review process control charts and troubleshoot fabrication issues on demand
- Deliver fabrication reports of processes and/or device fabrication runs
The ideal candidate has:
- Minimum one year of hands-on experience in a cleanroom with semiconductor processing
- Experience with Electron Beam Lithography (EBL)
- Experience in metrology with tools, such as Optical Microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) as well as image processing for automated Critical Dimension (CD) measurements
- Experience in processing with III-V material systems is a plus
- Advanced degree (Masters or higher) in Physics/Chemistry, Material Science or a related field is a plus
- Willingness to work on weekends upon request
Other qualities we hope the candidate possess
- Strong organizational skills
- Engaging and hands-on problem solver
- Enjoys collaborating with researchers and technical staff with a range of experience
- Interested in solving technical problems and planning
- Efficient, timely, and precise
- Fluent in written & oral English
- Strong communication skills
- Research and/or lab experience
- Ability to quickly integrate and work in a multidisciplinary, international team and effectively collaborate and communicate to meet deadlines and deliver against program goals
We can offer you:
- A fulltime position
- Attractive working conditions including 12 % pension (8/4), 6 % “frit-valg”, healthcare and dental insurance
- Employment at one of the world’s most recognized companies who is celebrated as one of the world’s greatest places to work
- Work with leading scientists in the field of quantum computing and in one of the largest quantum labs in Europe with cutting edge experimental facilities
- A dynamic working environment with a mix of both academic and industry researchers
- Become part of a highly ambitious program aiming to invent completely new quantum technologies
Note: For this role, there will be work on the weekend (only after the 3-6 months training period). During the initial training (first 3-6 months), work will follow standard Monday-to-Friday week schedule. After the training period, weekends will be included in the weekly work schedule. For example, you could be scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Tuesdays can then be swapped with Thursdays.
